This company consists of various (tourist) service related parts. They have a hostel, own cars to rent out, have shuttle buses, arrange house rentals , are tour operator and provide in all kinds of tourist related information. They are also active in real estate.

The office is situated right in front of the beautiful beach in the popular tourist destination Dominical.  The area has a lot to offer such as wildlife, rainforest, beautiful beaches, restaurants and shops. Not only tourists will be receive service and information but also people who want stay longer or even permanently, will be provided with helpful assistance. They have a large network in Costa Rica as they have been operating for over 25 years.

The general manager of the company is Costa Rican and his right hand is Canadian who is very dedicated to her work in the Marketing department.

Activities for interns

The interns can work in the office attending clients that request information. Clients can either be walk-ins or people asking information by phone.

Other activities could consist of;

·         Marketing and promotion online and offline  for the touroperator and other services

·         Approaching new companies to amplify there offer and find more customers

·         Analysis of competition with other info companies

·         Do a client-satisfaction research among clients about service of company

·         Developing business plan for the new affiliated office

Guidance

Your supervisor will be the owner but on day to day basis you will work mostly together with the marketing manager. There are 8 persons working in the office. Opening hours are from 8 AM – 18 PM. You will be working mostly during weekdays, but weekend shifts are part of your internship here.  

Remarks

In this internship it is a pre to speak English , it will be  also necessary  to communicate in at least basic Spanish as  nationals call or walk in to the office as well.

The internship company offers lunch on workdays and has appartments for rent in a nearby town, Baru. Here you can rent a room with shared bathroom and a shared kitchen.

Also the company offers transfers for interns from and to work when necessary, as they have cars available in the company.

This internship vacancy is for 1 student at a time.
