This family business is an eco-farm on a large private property. They offer an exciting combination of facilities and tours. There are tent suites in the jungle for almost 80 persons and a good restaurant with a great view. They also offer adventurous activities such as: river rafting, horseback riding, canopy tours, hiking, etc. For the guests who prefer more tranquil activities they offer a beautiful butterfly farm, an interesting frog pond and many areas to relax in a natural environment.

This resort is Rainforest Alliance certified. This means that they use the best sustainable practices to operate and it is also recognized and awarded with the highest level Certificate of Sustainable Tourism by the Tourism board of Costa Rica. They have about 50 persons staff. In the surrounding area you find small towns and farming land.

Activities for trainees

The intern will work at the (outdoor) operations department where activities are created, planned and executed. The operations require a lot of logistics. Sometimes four activities may run at the same time three times a day.

The intern will also help with the management and bus and car transfers to the jungle tent accommodations. The Tent Suites accommodation is 2 kilometers away from the adventure area and has its own reception.

You can also work on specific projects, which will be defined based on your knowledge, skills, wishes and on the actual demand of the resort at the time. Also there a lot of possibilities for assignments, such as making standard procedure- and process manuals and implement these. Assist and improve the area of Quality concerning service & control. Assist and improve the Sales & Marketing activities and help with the sustainable practices. Sustainability is one of the main pillars of the company, all projects related to this philosophy are greatly welcome to be further developed. They already operate the following projects in this field: reforestation, an organic orchard and a recycle program.
Supervision will be given by the directors and founders of the organization. Both directors have a graduate degree and have been working in their positions ever since the company was founded in 2003.
 
Remarks

Working hours will be flexible but generally 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. English and Spanish (basic level) are required in order to speak with locals and tourists (you can take a good Spanish course through On-Stage) The company always welcomes people from other countries that are interested in specific projects.

If available you will stay in one of the jungle tents. If not, you will stay near the site, only 1.5 km away in a basic, clean private cabin for a reasonable price. You will receive breakfast and lunch for free on each working day, no matter the season.
