Description of internship organization

This Eco Lodge is one of the leading hotels of the South Pacific of Costa Rica, which promotes the development of tourism, economic and social development of the area, offering globalized solutions, high-value service for their customers with an efficient human resource, committed to environmental sustainability, with the ultimate goal of maximizing the use and conservation of natural resources, profitability and maintain an adequate capital adequacy. It has 90 beds, a restaurant, a pool and an in-house touroperator.

Mission:
This hotel seeks to provide an efficient hosting service, which varies according to the standards of comfort and sustainability policies. There is a continuous commitment to integrity and spirit of service among its employees as well as a constant commitment to create awareness at the level of sustainable tourism.

Internship possibilities

Depending your career and internship demands there are possibilities in the following fields:

- Marketing. Examples: Updating website, webtools, social media, promotion work and conference room promotion.

- Reception & Reservations: attend guests

- Customer service

- The sustainability department. In coordination with your supervisor.

The possibilities are not limited to practical work. There are also possibilities to do research and/ or projects. For example research and advice customer satisfaction, make a sales plan for the tour operator or look for improvements on other existing services. Work weeks are based in 48 hours a week, divided over 6 days a week. Bed& board are being offered to you by the hotel.

Guidance

The hotel manager will be your internship supervisor. A work plan will be made together with you and taking into account both your needs& wishes and those of the hotel. The Dutch owner will also be involved in you internship where needed.

Remarks

They are looking for an intern with an active and creative attitude who has good communicational skills. The place also requires the ability to work under pressure and in a team. You are expected to work hard, but get bed& board in return and a great learning experience in a beautiful environment. There are periods of low and high season, what also affects your daily works. Therefore at certain times practical help may be needed at other departments. A flexible approach is required, also to the local habits, as their meals and their way of communication.
